Yeah, drove it straight back round the block and up to their door and asked them to correct it or give me my money back.

    Horses for courses?

Thankfully I store the carcinogens in the glove box, and dumo them in the dog bin when I walk her every night.

    Horses for courses?

And that would've had something like £11k down on it!!! Freddo, we've always known diesels are carcinogenic, but the nox (usually) comes out the back, and i couldnt refuse the couple of hundred quid saved every month.

    Horses for courses?

I'm not a diesel lover, but after two years, it's more than paid for itself and all the parts it's had, in the fuel savings over a petrol. Appropriate vehicle for the job because I needed a motorway mile muncher. I'd it got hit by a meteor to ight I wouldn't be to bothered though, as i only do...

Honda cars have no more problems with aftermarket parts than any other manufacturers

Lemforder suspension bits from Euros, and their premium wheel bearing/hub kit is as per the OE part including the same NTN bearing that Honda use. No idea about the brake master cylinder, however in your situation, i'd open it up, and if the bore's still good, I'd order up a rebuild kit from Honda.

Spot on. Everyone's so convinced that diesels the answer that they don't consider the alternative. The salesman doesn't care, he just wants to meet his target, and he knows if they don't buy a diesel from him, they'll go up the road and buy it from someone else.

    Horses for courses?

Totally agree Saj. When I did 100 motorway miles a day for work, I bought a diesel. When the wife wanted a car to do 10 miles a day locally, she got a petrol. Buy the correct tool for the job.

Don't know why she's moaning, it's not even her car. It's on a PCP and belongs to the lender. Probably wanted a diesel to save a tenner a month on fuel because she's loaded herself up with nearly £400 a month worth of finance.

(Unknowingly) The most JDM thing the wife's ever said.

I did get her into a Honda 10 years ago, and they're all she's had since.... https://imgur.com/gallery/rsyxj

    2.2 i-dtec mpg

My PFL 7th tourer is currently at 41.4mpg over 28k miles. Same deal here though. I've always loģged things out of curiosity and as a health check. Would hardly call myself a hypermiler. I live in the land of speed humps, it tows, does mostly local trips these days, and generally just gets a...

    2.2 i-dtec mpg

Is there a significant difference between the i-CDTI and i-DTEC motors in terms of economy then? I looked at 8th gen Tourers back in 2011 because they're a beautiful looking car. My 7th Gen is just a cheap hack, but still have a bit of a twitch when i see an 8th. The want is still there.

7th Gen - What have you done today?

Amazes me what goes in the back of a tourer. Dining table and 6 chairs earlier this year. 2 seater reclining sofa with removable backs last week. Load of timber yesterday (only 2.4's, though it'll easily do 3.0s with the boot shut, and has carried 4.8's in the past. And today it's got this...

Transmission Fluid - Friction Modified vs the rest!

Mine used to crunch going up from 2nd to 3rd before I changed the oil. Remember watching my dad double clutching up a huge long hill in our old landrover when towing back when i was kid. Never done it myself. I've always rev matched, and still do as a matter of habit (I learnt to drive in a...

Transmission Fluid - Friction Modified vs the rest!

Mine took about 4-5 thousand miles to set itself straight. Must take a while to clean the old deposits off the synchros.

The virtues of double wishbone suspension

Probably more to do with Honda having dome a better job of dialling out the bump steer than other manufacturers. Admittedly all.of my hondas have been brilliant in that department.

The virtues of double wishbone suspension

Honda motorcycles have had shows sussies and nissin stoppers (almost) exclusively since before i existed, save for a few special models and a period through the late 80's through mid/late 90s where their MX bikes had showa forks and kayaba shocks. There's a lot of history there. Honda do a...

The virtues of double wishbone suspension

They're as much wishbones as the double arm/ toe rod setup in a classic mini, from 1958. And a bell-cranked rising rate horizontal-shocked, F1 setup is a million miles away. Advertising.

    Power steering fluid leaking

If it's going from the cooler pipe as Jon says, the front subframe crossmember between the radiator and the motor gets soaked. I also had to trim the ends off the lines to the reservoir a while back too, they get slack and then it weeps fluid down the lines onto the inner wing and subframe.
