Today I have been mostly..........new intermediate driveshaft fitting.

Hahaha. I have to let them out somewhere as I've never sworn infront of my kids, and working in the building industry for years means I have such a potty mouth. Fortunately the whole front end of my car comes apart so easily nowadays. Being a farm boy growing up, I worship at the altar of the...

Diesel Filter Change Rounded Stuck bolt

I'd cut that bolt head off, then unscrew the remaining stud from the cap once it's off the car. Only need to replace the bolt then. Wouldn't be overly worried about igniting diesel. You'd need more heat than you can generate to do that.

    For Freddofrog.....

As I was under the car today...... 2004 CDTI Tourer has Ate calipers up front. They're also meant to have more meat on the pads than that too. ;)

Today I have been mostly..........new intermediate driveshaft fitting.

    7) Make like the Haynes manual and install in the reverse order to ***embly. No tricks, it actually is just the way. I actually put the intermediate and outer driveshafts together as a pair on the ground so I could fit them as one unit. My reason for doing this was that as they were a pair, and...

Today I have been mostly..........new intermediate driveshaft fitting.

    4) undo the strut from the bottom arm and pull the hub off the driveshaft splines, swing the hub out of the way. 5) This is where you need tomdo.a little prep - sort out all your swear words in advance, they'll be useful in the next two parts. I like the classics myself, the F-bomb, the...

Today I have been mostly..........new intermediate driveshaft fitting.

Been putting this off for ages because I hardly use the car any more. Not too bad a job, as i got it done in 2 and a half hours, but then again, I didn't stop for tea breaks. 1) unstake the hub nut and remove it (with the wheel back on the car and on the ground. I use a BFO 3/4" drive breaker...

    17" inch wheel question !

They're almost the same fitment at the OE 17" wheels. My front wheels have an extra inch of poke over your new ones and I haven't had to roll the arches, you'll be fine. - And unlike my car, it won't spray all the road filth up the sides in the wet, as the guard will still catch it all. :D

    17" inch wheel question !

They'll go in with loads of room to spare.

On the diesels I'll think you'll find it's Dirt Magnification Flange.

    rear wheel hub ?

The OE bearings on hondas are usually NTN ones. The more expensive replacement hub that Euro car parts did was identical to.the ones I removed from my 7th Gen, NTN bearings included.

I just purcahsed some new alloys!

Don't worry about that too much, I've hit damn near everything on 19's with 35 profiles and they've been fine.

    Heel Toe Driveshafts

Oh. Could be as above, if they just do the outer shafts and not the intermediate one too, things won't last, then people point the finger. My CDTI tourer has blueprint shafts, makes a truckload of torque on its stage 2 map, tows, and I use all off the throttle occasionally. Can't say it's had...

    F20B Honda Accord

Obviously taken off their nice wheels to sell separately. If it's done those miles, I'll bet the seat bolsters are ruined - if the picture's taken to hide this, it makes me wonder what other information they're being light on. Also the standard "No test, but needs nothing" if that was the...

    Front Brake Disk Size

Big ones on a diesel and a 2.4. Euro car parts cheapies seem to do a decent enough job on mine.

    Heel Toe Driveshafts

Splines wear on the half shaft though. That is what causes the clunk between gears, and the big vibration of death when everything's totally had it. Fitting a new driveshaft to it makes things go away for a little while, as the halfshaft splines are now in an unworn hub, but the lash between...

    H22 conversions

The best pic is when you see the difference in the two sets of cam lobes. I miss the burble on light throttle most, just as the AVCS is about to switch over.

    VSA Warning light

I'm not a fan either and hit the button as soon as I get in the car in the FRV. Don't know about anyone else here, but I'm not keen on the car interfering, and part of knowing about the levels of grip and the road conditions comes from the.feedback you get through the car. When it's applying...

    Honda HDS nightmare.

I spent a year on site (2003-ish) surveying, designing and scheduling hundreds of individual steel panels on the fit out on that bleedin' thing. 30 stories to my office in the morning and evening in full motorcycle kit as the lifts didn't run at those times. Never been so fit though.
