Wouldn't this damage 5th gear as well? Anyone had the same problem if so what cured the problem?

I'm thinking of taking the gearbox off and stripping it my self as reverse won't engage into gear withe the gear stick. Just wondering if anyone had any diagrams or a simple guide to get me sorted. Also if it's synchro wouldn't 5th this ,
