    ctdi rear brake caliper replacement/options

I thought it was the same as well. In fact I thought most cars now have that setup?

    ctdi rear brake caliper replacement/options

Is the saloon different to the tourer then? Handbrake uses the rear brakes and not shoes inside the drum?

Allow diesel engine to idle before switching off?

5-10 seconds before driving off, at least 10 mins before pushing at all but ideally 10 mins after the coolant gauge is up to temp (coolant heats up much quicker than the oil), leave it idling for 30 seconds before turning engine off. At least that's what I do, no exceptions no matter how in a...

    pinking

Try a bottle of BG44K before paying out hundreds for proper treatments - it only lasts a few tankfuls before it gums up again though (IME).

    Alarm deactivation?

Funnily enough I did this today, pushed down the pin and closed the door - both front windows open. About half hour later the alarm was going off!! Luckily I was nearby anyway but no idea why it went off - maybe it thought something had been opened.

    Alarm deactivation?

I think you use the drivers door button thingy. So with the door open push down the door lock plunger, then close the door (not with your keys on the seat!). It won't let you do it with the keys in the ignition.

    fuel consumption gone up

As above my caliper sticking did nothing to the performance of it at all, only way I knew was consumption went up from about 45mpg around town to 35mpg!! Plus the rear offside wheel I noticed was quite hot after a motorway run if I'd used the brakes hard enough.

    Cleaning EGR Valve

On mine it's clean and normal most of the time, but if I drive sustained for any more than say 20 minutes (like on motorway or around town on low throttle) then the next time I stick my foot down it smokes quite a bit for 1 or 2 seconds - after that it's fine again until the next time I'm...

    Cleaning EGR Valve

The car smokes more :D I can fully recommend Fahad doing a remap, the EGR off will prevent future problems from occuring - read the hesitation threads on this forum! Once you get a stuck valve you need to replace it you can't remap it after it's failed. If you also go for the stage 1 (or 2)...

    Diesel Hesitation

Have you read the hesitation thread cover to cover? http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/1127-slight-missing-or-hesitation-excessive-smoking-etc/

    Diesel Hesitation

Isn't there another filter in the IMRC system which gets clogged? I'm sure someone replaced it with a cut out circle of an old air filter and fixed the hesitation? It was somewhere where nobody thought it would cause an issue.

    supermarket fuel paranoia

Shocking good! huge reductions in emissions for one thing. Some pictures I saw of valves and other internals that were spotless compared to the 'normal' diesel run engine. Not much is said about performance or MPG as far as I remember - I might try to find some more up to date info on it later.

    supermarket fuel paranoia

Gas To Liquid. Have a read up on GTL fuel trials, Mercedes did one some time ago with 0%, 50/50 and 100% GTL and the results are quite shocking! I think Shell only use like 2% or something but still it's more than anyone else (unless that's changed in the last couple of years, I haven't looked...

    supermarket fuel paranoia

I'd use supermarket petrol but not diesel. Tesco diesel DEFINITELY made 2 different cars of mine run badly on a few completely separate occasions. Also, I believe Shell VPD is still the only diesel to contain GTL.

    Hids

MTEC SUPER WHITE 501 Although they may look a bit too white against your blue HIDs, maybe LEDs might match better - I'm no longer a fan of sidelight LEDs on my facelift due to the blue plastics.
