How to change offside front indicator bulb?

I have a similar problem. My indicator works, doesn't work, works, doesn't work.

Bulbs. Dipbeam is H1. Mainbeam has H7 bulb in it.

That's exactly what I did the other day - the dipped bulb blew so thought I'd swap it with the main beam bulb as a temporary fix. Took the rubber cover off and oh no! Looks like a different bulb type! Got a pair of xtreme vision bulbs coming but those deals you found sound pretty good!

Bulbs. Dipbeam is H1. Mainbeam has H7 bulb in it.

Have you had the bulb out? The main bulbs have a weird kind of adapter on them that make it look like a different type, but is deffo h1 in mine.

    How much oil?

The way I change oil: drain oil. Put 5l in. Check dipstick. Add a bit. Wait. Check dipstick. Add a bit more. Wait. Check dipstick. Repeat until bang on. The way a garage does it: drain oil. Chuck all 5.9 (more likely 6l) in at once. Job done. You will never drain off the whole 5.9 l hence the...

When to change a 10 year old car.

My neighbour chopped in his 4 year old car for a new one as it was "starting to cost money". He meant it needed 2 tyres and a back box. My Polish brother in law, on the other hand got himself a 12 year old mondeo, that he considered to be just run-in. This was the time of the scrappage deal in...

When to change a 10 year old car.

You could trade it in for a stupidly low price and spend a few grand on top to get a newer car that, sooner or later will need work doing to it. Or you could stop worrying about "what if x or y breaks" enjoy it while you have it and leave the decision making till something does go pop. Me, I...

    Front ARB bushes - replacement?

How long should it take to do? Seems more involved than the rear bushes.

Daft question but need to ask

What engine do you have? You could stab a screwdriver through the metal canister type filters, but if its the diesel then you need to reuse the plastic cap so don't even think about it.

Daft question but need to ask

I don't know about other models but the 7th gen diesel needs a 76mm cup wrench with (I think)14 flutes.

    Pollen filter

I get the same, fogged in the morning. I only changed the cabin filter in October and still have the same problem so doubt a new filter will help much.

    Need info on coolant replacement

You can drain from the cylinder head too but you'll only get a small amount extra out. I saw a (7th gen) DIY on here where someone did it but said next time they'd just drain off the rad as its a lot of hassle to go the cylinder head route. The manual seems to suggest that either way is acceptable.

    Winter tyres T H V speed rating ?

I don't think the manual specifies a rating but instead tells you to put a reminder sticker on the windscreen if you get tyres that are rated lower than your summers. From what I've seen before, it seems that insurers aren't too bothered but if you get a reply let us know.

DIY 6th Gen Spark Plug Howto

Nice guide, Andy. If you don't have a torque wrench, the packaging for the plugs often tells you how tight to do them. Its normally hand tight, then another 1/2 to 2/3 turn, depending on the type of plug. Also, to avoid cross-threading, I know some people who will attach a length of rubber...

    I-CTDI manual transmission fluid change

Nice write up. And plus 1 on the advice to always make sure you can locate and remove the filler bolt before you drain anything. Ever. Ooh, and don't forget to refit the drain bolt before you re-fill!

    7th Gen Boot Spolier

Exactly, Sufi. A rear spoiler that provides real downforce will lift the front end of the car, making it feel more unstable at speed unless you put a front splitter on too. But the splitter won't provide functional downforce unless the car is super low. Anyway, I find the Accord only gets...
