    Diesel Smell?

Stuart, Honda did an extended warranty for 7 years / 125k miles for the exhaust manifold that was prone to cracking, causing the fumes. Depending when yours was registered, it may just get in. Loads of info here. If its outside warranty, Faddy has arranged a deal to get it fixed. here, but might...

    Steamy windows

Steven, it does the same on mine and I often have to pull over too. It made no difference changing the pollen filter. I don't think it helps by introducing a nice warm person breathing warm air into a cold car so I just hold my breath for a few minutes till the aircon does its stuff. Welcome to...

    Car Mats

Peter. I had this with mine (bought off ebay). What I thought were holes for fitting to the OEM clips were actually holes for the carpet screws that came with the mats. I didn't fancy putting a couple of great big plastic screws in my carpet so just fitted them without using any clips. As they...

    Fiting rear camber arms

Does the suspension need to be fully loaded with the weight of the car or do you just need to lift the suspension so you can fit everything together? If so, would spring compressors be any good? Or how about using a transmission jack to lift the suspension while the car is on the ramp?

DIY 7th Gen Pre-Facelift Diesel Fuel Filter Change

Matt, have a rep point on me. I used this guide yesterday to do the filter and it all went smoothly (took me 3hrs mind, but WILL be much quicker next time!)

Advice on exhaust and lowering springs

If its just the nuts and bolts that have corroded, can't they just grind them off or is it that the cat and pipes are corroded too? As for lowering the front, just chuck of few bags of cement in the passenger footwell for an instant and cheap effect!

Rear Brake pad and disc replacement SALOON 04 reg Diesel

Just remembered, when you wind the piston back in make sure you line the notches up correctly. If not, the pads won't be seated properly. They'll end up being in constant contact with the disc and at best wear out real quick. At worst the heat build up could warp your new discs. I don't know...

Rear Brake pad and disc replacement SALOON 04 reg Diesel

Get an impact driver. The discs are held on with two little retaining screws. They're a nightmare to get off without the driver. I got one from machine mart for about a tenner. Have you found the guide in the diy section? It tells you all you need to know.

    Copper slip

Jon, do you also turn your boxers inside out to reduce the amount of laundry you have? I too was confused on the applicability of grease a while back but could find no concrete evidence of what's best to use. I've had cars come back from the garage with copper grease on the pins and...

    Rear Door Speakers

I have an 05 executive with speakers in all the doors and on the rear shelf. Don't know what the differences between trim levels would be but all the speakers in mine work.

Transmission flud - how oftend to change it

I bought mine at 44k and the gear change wasn't great, especially getting into 3rd gear. Got the fluid changed and hey presto! - smooth as silk. I' d say a change every 75k minimum but if it feels like it needs it then do it - you won't be disappointed.

    Odd Caliper Bolts

1st rule of life: Don't jam anything where it doesn't belong! Ian, you beat me to it, I've just been checking out torx sizes for you and was going to say T45. I've not got a torx set but I'm guessing a T45 is not a common size, just like you won't find a 7mm hex key on a standard set. I think...

Dude. That's a hex key, not a torx. It won't fit the bolts.

Not heard of them having a torx fitting before, Ian. Sorry I can't help.
