    AirCon Smells

Sorry CJ, didn't expect my comments would stir this thread! I was quoting my experiences. The Accord's AC seems have issues but this pales into insignificance next to the Prius, which, according to the many threads and research on US forums, was deemed poorly designed. Sure, one swallow doesn't...

    AirCon Smells

That's a great idea - and quick to do as well. You could easily do this when cleaning the interior of the car.

    It's all about the Tyres!

Interesting thread. I can also recommend Kumhos - have fitted them to a couple of my cars in the past and they've been very good. Quite hard-wearing with low rolling resistance, which I think contributes to lower noise overall.

Facelift wipers: cheaper at the dealer!

The wipers were pretty shot on my 2006/56 car when I got it three months ago - the passenger one just spread water evenly on the screen - so I did exactly what every other lazy motorist does and wandered into Halfords to pick up a new set. I paid around £23, and because I was distracted by my...

    AirCon Smells

I've found the same thing as everyone else here; AC smells straight after switch off if it's not been used for a day or so. The only solution is to use it regularly. I'm certain however that this is a design fault, and maybe one that's more common on Japanese cars. A couple of years ago I ran a...

    Steering "squirming" sensation on cornering/roundabouts

Same here - I posted the same query on the newbie section when I collected my Accord. It is odd and does feel like there's a fault, but when the car was at the dealers for the exhaust manifold change I asked them to check it and no problems were found. Just a characteristic, clearly.

    Want to change my alloys!

Yes, I love these rims too. Anyone know what are they called?

    Traffic/Speed Cameras for Sat Nav

Agree with Dan - it's possible but requires some software changes with some specific know-how. I've seen this kind of thing tackled on other forums, and it usually involves decompiling the source code on the DVD, making some changes, adding the POI (point of interest) data and then recompiling...

    Sat Nav/AC/Info system

Hi Stuart, I wonder if this could be an earthing problem. It might explain why somethings are working and some aren't. I've never taken the sat nav unit out of my Accord but I know many electrical components share the same earthing points. If yours is loose, it could explain why various things...

    mpg readout

True - I just worked out the mpg myself after brimming the tank to see what had been used. Computer displays 58mpg but I've worked out 55mpg. Not a vast difference, but enough!

    Anti-Roll Bar D Bush Replacement

Great write-up Jav - exactly why TA is a must-have resource. Can I ask what mileage your car was on when you did this work? And do you think the coilovers would have made a difference to the bushes' lifespan?

Difference it makes to MPG turning Aircon off

I run the A/C as little as possible - just 10 or 20 minutes a week - to keep the MPG as high as possible! I've noticed that the Accord's A/C does get a bit pungent after switching off, something that also affected a second-gen Toyota Prius I owned a couple of years ago. In that car, some...

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

My first full tank was 629 miles which included a spell at the Honda dealer getting a new fuel filter fitted. This isn't bad as I guess there was a lot of engine idling and short movements to kill the economy (the average mpg display was reset). However, today I had a 300+ mile round-trip to...

    My Service History

Yes it was from LubeTech as Rob said, but I made a mistake - it was £88 delivered after the TA discount. PM any of the Admins or LubeTech directly for the code which you use upon checkout of the site.

    My Service History

Good call chap - come to think of it, it was more like 5 litres I put in first because after a couple of minutes (to let the oil settle) the dipstick was showing oil above the minimum mark. It's not easy to judge, but it'll be easier next time. Thanks for the comments!

    My Service History

Cheers mate - pressed "Submit" when I only wanted to preview the post. Doh! All done now - can you see the pictures now? Regarding Holdcraft, do you know happen to know what a service kit like this would cost from them?

    My Service History

After several weeks of reading the guides here, and opinions of other owners around servicing, I decided to take the plunge and switch my Accord to the self-service route. A major service was due on my car and a combination of frankly shocking Honda dealer servicing costs (£427 anyone?) and no...

Great feedback guys, thanks. Now added to my to-do list!

Boot lip spoiler: anyone bought one of these?

Spotted this OEM-look boot lip-spoiler for the 4-door. Anyone bought and fitted one? Looks neat and seems to match the OEM version on the facelift Sport model. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170576096769 Have to spend money elsewhere on the car first, but might come back...

    Exhaust fumes/smell in cabin I-CTDI

Got my car back today with the new manifold and there's a real difference; quite apart from the absence of any fumes, the engine is certainly much more punchy. I'd also swear fuel economy has improved, because the average MPG display had been reset while it was in and was showing less than 10mpg...
