    Vertical movement in driveshafts

Thanks for the replies, they've been very helpful. The knocking has been going on for a long time and I've checked everything myself plus 2 reputable garages. I had replaced the rear ARB bushes and all 4 drop links a couple of years a go, they are all still fine. I left the front as there was...

Rear wheel bearing change - Gen 7 Tourer

Great guide mate :) I have a couple of questions: How has the bearing been since you fitted it, I'm getting the same one? Did you get a price from Honda for an OEM one? How did you undo/tighten the hub nut without the weight of the wheel to stop it turning?

    Vertical movement in driveshafts

I've been trying to find a knocking noise for a good year now which I get on bumpy roads only. An upper wishbone was replaced a year a go but there is still a knocking. I think we finally tracked it down to a front ARB bush so both of those will be replaced. While the car was on the ramps at...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

I received the new alternator and fitted it. Charged the battery up using my ctek charger which also reconditioned it. Started the car and went for a drive, it's made a massive difference! :) Last December I fitted a new starter motor and battery, both Honda parts. About 2-3 months later I...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

The missus did say something didn't sound right when I had pulled over before I turned the engine off. My hearing ain't great so I wouldn't of heard it. It's done a 122k miles so I guess it's at that age where it's going to fail. The starter motor went last year as well.

Sat nav problems linked to air-conditioning?

I have a copied DVD in mine but it works more in the summer than it does the winter so I think the cold does affect it! I tried cleaning the laser but it didn't help that much TBH.

    Tourer Rear Brakes Sticking

I got so fed up with my rear brakes binding that I replaced the calipers, slider pins and hoses before fitting new Honda pads again, which cured the problem. I now strip them down and clean them once a year to make sure it doesn't happen again.

7th Gen lower control arm replacement

I bought a compliance bush from Honda, it was under £20 and got it fitted to the original arm. I've had bad experiences with pattern arms in the past on other cars so decided on this route. I ***ume the whole knuckle has to come out to replace the ball joints? Although I don't have play in mine...

    ARB bushes and Links

I also recommend the Meyle HD drop links, fitted them to both the front and rear with no issues. The bushes from Honda are very cheap, I'd go for those too.

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

 No problem mate. Thanks for the link to the part number checker I didn't know about that so it's reassuring they're the same. Thanks mate. Maybe the wording on the listing is for when you buy on their website then. I have bought the alternator so will get it fitted as soon as it arrives...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

Thanks Stu, that's a better price! Was it branded Denso so definitely genuine and is yours the CSC29 model? The part number on the listing is slightly different to Ling's. Did you send the old unit back for the £100 surcharge? I did see this remanufactured Denso one as well but from reading...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

That's the one I linked to in my post above yours previously. Along with a link for the Denso one from CP4L. I'm going to do some more searching tomorrow when I've got time but it sounds like I need a Denso one.

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

I'm not sure about buying a used one, how long until that packs up. I spent £1500 on the car last December hoping I wouldn't need to spend much this soon but that included a Honda starter motor and battery. I might as well replace this for a new one. Interesting read thanks. Hopefully the Denso...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

Yeah it was definitely weird electrical behaviour. The AA phoned me on the way to ask what happened and they said it sounded like the alternator. Despite the fact the battery light didn't flicker or even come on, which is what's happened in other cars I've owned. He tested the battery and it...

Broken down - Airbag, VSA, abs and warning lights on, can't won't start

I am currently waiting for recovery to arrive so thought I'd ask if anyone has an idea what could be wrong. I was driving on the M25 and thought I saw a light flick on, it did it again and was the airbag light. I carried on and then it stayed on, shortly followed by the 3 yellow lights. The...

Automatic gearbox issue - pulls/pushes when changing

This issue seems to be getting worse. It doesn't do it all the time but is more noticeable when braking sharply and it has to change down quickly or when accelerating again once it's slowed down. Is the position sensor or solenoids known for failing on the gearbox and would they give error...

Sorry - another seized rear brake calliper thread - calliper replacement recommendations please :-)

I did the same as you cos I was fed up with the brakes binding. I replaced the calipers, slider pins, hoses (rubber ones) and genuine pads. I kept the genuine discs as they seemed ok. This was 2 years a go and they have been perfect until recently when a slider pin seized but I cleaned that up...

    Best Oil - 2004 2.4 Petrol

That's what I thought and I hate the fact I am always topping it up so I'm going to try the slightly thicker oil.

Automatic gearbox issue - pulls/pushes when changing

So after throwing £1,500 at the car in 4 months I was hoping I wouldn't have any more issues but I do! I've noticed this behaviour in the last 2 months or so but when accelerating sometimes you can feel the gear changes and it pushes (maybe judders) the car. It's more noticeable in the lower...
