From when I did the install on our non satnav unit, I can confirm that a screwdriver and fingers to remove trim also works :D Ours is an auto but the surround should be the same, open the ashtray and you have another grip with your fingers to pull the back of the trim up, Came out rather easy...

We get this on our Accord, When you're out and about next, put your foot under the brake pedal and pull it towards you, and try your cruise again. We have to do that everytime we want to use cruise, I did have a play with the little pressure sensor on the pedal which did seem to sort the issue.

That's still very impressive performance from a heavy car.
