petrol VTEC or diesel accord opinions/help

^^ he hit the nail on the head, tbh with your milage a petrol makes much more sense. the world is your oyster with a yummy array of petrol engines out there, a facelift 2.4 accord is a very good choice, and you will get one for much less than a 8th gen diesel, the money you 'save' can go on...

How do 8th Gens handle mileage?

it has headlight wipers too and HIDs too, quite rare on the 8th gen. Cant believe you went from Saabs, Honda Legends and a load of other tasty petrol lumps to a 2.2 diesel however. I think the general consensus on this car is, its not very economical for a diesel, plus is has the extra baggage...

    2.4 buying tip.

I would avoid sunroofs and an auto box, a hitch as well is iffy as Brian said the clutch is not great. good luck with the hunt.

    2.4 buying tip.

get a good stretch of road and give it loads through all the gears, should be rock solid with no shakes, (tip courtesy of our resident vibration guru Brian..:p) other than that I had a 2.4 myself and could not find any faults with it. Really good car by all accounts.

    Fuel consumption k20

that's pretty bad, i get more on my 2.5 lexus. have you serviced it? this is why i told people on this site to get a 2.4 the difference in economy is marginal, and 2.4 is much better to drive.

Accord being discontinued in the UK?

Honda killed by non existent marketing and prices far too high. only themselves to blame. I'm loving my lexus (breakdowns since June = 0!) would i get another Honda Accord, probably not. At the money they got for new you can get much better cars elsewhere. I did see a k24 tonight when I was out...

Single exit or twin exit custom exhaust and why?

i don't usually drive my cars too hard (Brian probably drove my Accord harder than i did :p), but the v6 makes a good angry growl past 4k rpm with the typhoon.

    Lowering...

a 2003/04 reg accord is going to have a hard time on springs, eventually the shocks will play up, if i were you i would cough up for coilovers, the difference between springs and coils is day and night.
