Tourer boot space & goodbye Accord :(

I've been looking at what to replace my 2.2idtec tourer with and want to stay in the Honda camp and was very surprised when comparing boot space, I got the tourer as I have 2 kids so want any replacement to equal the space I have, in researching what was available I found the new Civic has even...

    DPF problems again

Latest update on my DPF issue is that after 3 days with my car Honda found a software update that needed to be done and managed to force a regen so no new DPF thank goodness. They advised if it goes again then may have to try a cleansing fluid for the DPF then last resort a new one. Service...

    DPF problems again

Well I'll ask Honda for my old DPF so I can sell it on to anyone interested to gut. I have a Jazz at the moment from Honda whilst mine is in, it does better mpg (50 on my way to work as opposed to 40 in the accord) There is more interior space than the accord which is strange and only a slightly...

    DPF problems again

I do about 15k a year with 3 motorway trips a week so thought diesel would be cheaper to run, but higher purchase price, more frequent & more expensive servicing and higher diesel price completely takes out any savings made by the additional 10mpg I get. Let alone the issue with dpf and future...

    DPF problems again

I had the no prior warning DPF return to dealer light in Jan this year where they forced a regen. Driving home from Portsmouth yesterday it came on again in limp mode, this was after an hour going down the motorway over 70mph.... Today dealer reports can't regen as it keeps going into limp mode...

Looking for Parts for 2012 EX DTEC

So after getting a 7th gen with bad mpg, changing every possible part to try and cure the bad mpg, buying a crashed 7th gen to swap the engine over to try and cure the bad mpg, that having still not cured your bad mpg you have how purchased a crashed 8th gen with many issues. Is this a wind up?

    Easy tuning mod(s) for a K24A3 ...

If you want 200bhp the easiest route is to sell and get an 8th gen, 200bhp out the box from the k24.,

    8th gen rear brakes

2008 2.2 iDtec estate. rear discs with shoes for the handbrake. I recently got quickfit to change the pads (they have a lifetime guarantee for the ownership of the car and replace free of charge) They had a nightmare getting the right pads and shoes as there are lots of different ones for the...

    2.2 i-DTEC Auto MPG!

I had a loan 2.2 auto whilst my 2.4 manual was serviced a couple of years ago, I was shocked to find the diesel auto had the same mpg as my 2.4 on my daily commute. 35mpg does sound about right.

    2,4 type s

10 years ago we had the s2000 pushing 240bhp from a 2.L Its not just about the horses, the 2.4 has more torque than any of those engines and is much better for it on a daily basis.

    After some advice please?

Completely agree, hence why I definately recommend a 2.4 for the OP doing 6k a year. Even with my 12k a year and 50/50 motorway driving I'd prefer the 2.4, big shame they are so rare in 8th gen!

    After some advice please?

Put a 2.4 in 6th gear at 20mph and it will pull away nicely, put a 2.2 in sixth gear at 20mph and it will struggle to do anything and probably stall! Yes the diesel has more torque, but I found the 2.4 to have much more usable torque with a much bigger spread. When doing 30 about town in my...

    After some advice please?

Definately go for the 2.4 if you are only doing 6k a year. I've owned two 7th Gen 2.4s, one 8th Gen 2.4 and am currently driving an 8th gen 2.2iDtec. The 2.4 is a very very smooth engine and is much nicer and easier to drive than the diesel. With the diesel you have to keep the rpm above 2000...

    More VSA advice please.

My old Fiat uno turbo (A few years ago now!) had the same problem, it was the brake master cylinder, has this been ruled out? If I pressed softly on the pedal it would travel to the foor, pumping it would firm the pedal up nicely but only last a few pedal presses.

Why not take it to Honda? Better that than wasting money on things it may be and garages that can't help!

    8th Gen Service Reminder Codes

Great, just had an a/b service at Honda and now the newly reset indicator tells me 4500 miles until another service, to change the coolant it seems. if I follow the svrs system I will be at the dealers ever few months! Time to get it turned off and follow the 12month/12 thousand mile traditional...

    2004 i-CTDI low MPG

I feel like I've just wasted an hour of my life reading this entire thread. It had many twists and turns and played out like some weird soap opera at times. I was hoping for a resolution, now we have yet more questions. Do you think she has left the handbrake on? Thats seems about the only...
