I would have thought it would be worth changing dmf and clutch at the same time regardless if one is less worn than the other to save labour cost a year or 2 down the line.

Toffee pie, what engine is that your quoting? my old 2.4 8th gen did 350 mixed driving to a tank easy and that was using the odd bit of heavy foot. I think 250 would be concerning unless it was around a race track!

That's about right, anything over 70mph and you get a big drop off in mpg. Optimum for most cars is about 65mph for best mpg. I tend to stick to 70mph max these days and notice a lot more people tending to do this too in the last few years. For me it's the saving in fuel and not wanting to waste...

TBH petrol and tax are the only high running costs, when you compare 2nd hand purchase price, servicing and potential faults against the diesel version they are about the same over 3 years of ownership!

So whilst driving home tonight got the DPF light, no warning just limpmode so low power and visit the dealer light. will see if they can squeeze me in tomorrow morning for a forced regen. 55k and first issue with the car after a year of ownership but it's already making me regret going diesel...

It's a different story with the diesel Honda's though, they need regular oil changes to keep them running at their best.

As a side note hopefully the 8th Gen values won't take a nosedive as no new model coming out?

It's the speed thats the main problem, at anything over 70MPH the wind resistance increases massively and really brings down the MPG. Staying between 65-70MPH I easily get 55MPG on a long run. A Diesel also needs time to warm up to get good MPG. If your daily commute is less than 10 miles you...

I'd lIke to see a hybrid petrol/electric Accord in the 9th Gen. 1.6 with 130bhp + 30hp electric motor = 160bhp, 45MPG and no dpf :) - mind you if I'm making a wish list I'd probably stick a 70hp electric motor in there!
