It's def the pad grinding on the disc - you can feel the contact throught the wheel - it's also on both rear wheels.

I've done about 300 miles since getting the car so plenty of miles to clean anything off, if anything the problem is getting worse. Pads have lots plenty left on them, it's not the steel wear pin.

I think the main issue is with the auto box sapping mpg, unless there are any auto users out there who beg to differ, I'm sure the iDtec in manual form is much better!

Thanks but I was after a one button shortcut, my old Mondeo had a mute/unmute button which I could just hit whilst driving rather than going into the menu, it was touch screen though so more room for stuff like that. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious!
