    fuel consumption gone up

Might be worth jacking up each wheel to check that you've not got a binding brake (as I had until this morning on my tourer). HTH Robin

Argh! Help! My rear end is sinking

A broken spring perhaps ? I had something similar at the front of my old Fiat Punto, it lost just over one coil breaking off at the bottom of the spring. Can't see what else would allow it to drop short of something really wacky going on. HTH. Cheers Robin

    Dual mass flywheel

As the other guys have said, labour will be the most part of the cost unfortunately as the front subframe has to be lowered, but you can save a bundle by getting an LUK dual mass flywheel from Euro Car Parts (LUK make the part that Honda use) - from time to time they have offers on and I've seen...

If you were banned from buying a Honda Accord, what would be your next best choice?

I don't believe the fuel consumption figures for the Avensis T180 ! Used to have the Verso T180 as a company car - very quick but seriously at one point I was peering underneath expecting to find leaks from the (small) fuel tank ! Watch out for blocked DPF's on the Mazda...

Low beam Dipped Headlight bulbs keep blowing

I had an H1 blow and went for the cheapskate Halfords lamps as a replacement. Absolute carp. First one lasted just 2 months despite light summer use, the second just a week despite me handling the lamps very carefully so as not to touch the glass whilst fitting (which is a simple job ***uming...

    vibration and shudder between 65~70

I had a similar problem with the rear offside of my tourer which turned out to be an out of round tyre. At a shade over 70 mph (whilst overtaking of course !) it stared gradually then built up to what felt like a flat tyre. Most disconcerting ! All good once that was swapped. Thinking back...

alarm keeps going off on my 54 accord diesel

Apologies for resurrecting a zombie thread, but I just thought it would be worth noting that I've just had this problem on my '56 Tourer. Jeez is that warbler loud inside the car !! The car had been parked at work all day with no problems, I came back to the car tonight and pressed the remote...

    discombobulated

Isn't it the suspension springs that set the ride height (***uming standard suspension setup) ? I've always understood the shock absobers to do just that - damping out movement due to road surface variations. Cheers Robin

    Honda happiness clutch price increase?

Oh great..... just started getting slip on boost in 6th gear and was planning a visit to the dealer. I wouldn't mind £800 so much if Honda are throwing a DMF on at the same time ;) Cheers Robin

    excessive petrol consumption- Type S

Have you looked at the air filter ? If it's badly blocked it will strangle the engine and make it thirsty. HTH Robin Edit - just seen the 'recently serviced' bit... should read more closely. Worth checking that the air filter was swapped though unless of course you did it yourself.

    Exhaust fumes/smell in cabin I-CTDI

Yay :) My tourer is now sorted thanks to the guys and girls at Brindley Honda West Bromwich. No smells now other than the expected "new engine" type smell from the new manifold and the engine is definitely quieter now. They also kindly fitted the new (OEM of course) fuel filter I supplied for...

    Exhaust fumes/smell in cabin I-CTDI

Good news so far, the manifold has been confirmed as failed and the garage have filed a claim under the extended warranty and have a new one on order. Just waiting for the call to say it's in stock. Cheers Robin

    Exhaust fumes/smell in cabin I-CTDI

My tourer is into Brindley Honda @ West Bromwhich this morning for a look-see at the exhaust manifold. I'm pretty sure that it has cracked as I'm getting the smells as described, and the threaded end of the three bolts that hold the heatshield on are well sooty. Thank you to the previous poster...

    Vsa light

Hi there, I'm pretty sure that in order to make a claim under AA Breakdown Repair Cover a patrol needs to have attended first - I'd check the small print to be sure. HTH Cheers Robin
