No more typeaccord HH discount for service parts?

I had a telephone order a few days ago, and paid the same as the new web site. A couple of the items were actually cheaper at Cox, but not worth the hassle of being home for a second delivery for a couple of quid. I notice the new site only covers routine service items, the brake discs I got...

    Limp home - P1065 = Fuel Filter?

Fuel filter would be a good place to start. Make sure you put in a genuine Honda one. http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/8402-diy-7th-gen-pre-facelift-diesel-fuel-filter-change/ it's worth reading to the end, for the comments and discussion, then looking here for the DIY with the pictures...

    Air Con in Winter

As far as I'm aware (mine appears to) when the coolant temperature is below the desired cabin temperature the air con does it's best to provide heat on the 8th gen too. Only seems to work if temp is set to 'max' though. From memory my 7th gen didn't need setting to max and worked all the time...

rear lights don't come on when brake pedal is pressed

If they're same as the tourer (I imagine they are) they're probably the capless dual filament type shown on the right.

    Tailgate creaking

I'll swear (a long time ago) there was an excellent thread with pictures about tailgate struts. Possibly to do with less expensive aftermarket ones. Or fixing the electric open on the EX. I forget now. The guy had the boot lid propped open with a piece of timber whilst he worked. I've been...

    Tailgate creaking

https://picload.org/view/dcilicid/8th-gen-boot-strut.jpg.html but that's on an 8th Gen... I think all the 7th Gen tourer gubbins is hidden in the roof

    2014 2.2 idtec EX Tourer

This is my philosophy too. Keep a long gap to the car in front, and don't boot it unless you need to. I rarely get less than 50mpg

    Tailgate creaking

My boot lid has been creaking something fierce since the weather has turned cold. I've just popped out and polished up the shafts on the struts and the noise has gone!

difference between 8th gen and 7th gen interior sizes

I agree with Bounder. 7th Gen tourer boot was brilliant. 8th Gen is fine, but not nearly as good. I have this diagram on my phone (for when considering whether I can fit stuff in my 8th Gen boot) It doesn't strike me that there is a lot of difference in passenger space, though I've not...

This is probably a bad idea... but have any of you tried DPF cleaning chemicals?

I've not tried any of the above so can't comment on their effectiveness, but my two penneth would be wary of putting stuff in the tank without obeying the recommended dilution to make it 'stronger', as you might find yourself adding a high pressure fuel pump and / or injectors to your shopping...

I thought Hondas were meant to reliable?

Sounds like you’ve had a (really) bad run of luck there. Some of the things you’ve had have cropped up before, but I don’t remember so many hitting one person in such a short period of time :-( People are generally quick to criticise and slow to praise on forums / user groups / the internet in...

    I-ctdi is using water

After I changed the coolant in mine it took a few runs to work all the air out the system. After a couple of minor top-ups it settled, and didn't need additional fluid after that. Out of interest how much are you having to add, and how full are you filling it? One of my previous cars (not a...
