Have I been given the wrong diesel fuel filter?

Agree with Brett. I would say your mechanic has messed up too. Just to clarify the Denso filter is for facelift and the other with the tubes on top is for pre facelift. I'd say he took a look at you filter and saw the pipes coming on the top of it, didn't realise that part separates from the...

    ABS PUMP

Removing the bumper and headlight is pretty straight forward. There are guides on here and youtube on how to do it. The VSA module is then just a few bolts and brake lines to disconnect. Should easily be able to do it if you have basic skills.

Sure it's not the door seal and the water is just running to the lowest point?

    Water in rear pass. footwell

It's interesting you have this issue as well without a sunroof. If the water was getting in past the window felt I would have thought the water would drip down into the bottom of the door and out the drain holes. The door seals are higher than the drain holes so the water stays on the outside...

Thinking of puting my 7th gen HIDS in

Brett see my/ the last comment in this thread New MOT rules The headlight are graded on brightness now not the type of headlight you have, as it is extremely hard to tell which system you are using without taking it apart. The headlight washers are compulsory if the brightness is over 2000...

    Aircon condensor

When they say the air con condenser is corroded do they just mean surface corrosion? If so and the air con is still working I wouldn't bother. They're not a cheap part to replace (especially from any main dealer) so personally I would leave it until if or when it fails. It may have just been an...

    2012 new MOT rules

I went down to see my mechanic today to discuss the new 2012 MOT rule changes regarding HID headlights and aftermarket conversions. I went in expecting him to have already received the new paperwork only to be told they don't receive it until a week into the new year. He then mentioned...

    wrong battery from honda?

Alternators, as well as having a electric motor in them to generate the charge when they are turning, also have a small circuit board in them to regulate the charge they are generating. On a previous car of mine because the alternator was a very compact design it used to burn out the circuitry...

    wrong battery from honda?

I've had batteries reading around 9V that have still tried to turn a starter motor and they certainly weren't flat. If you were experiencing the same symptoms with the new battery as you are with the old one all be it not as frequently then the problem doesn't lie with the battery. As Adam (The...

    wrong battery from honda?

The battery voltage sounds fine. Its a 12 volt battery after all so should hold just over 12 volts when charged. And when being charged the alternator should produce around 14 volts so both figures look right. If you still have the old battery see if you can see the battery type and the cranking...

2 Stroke oil in your ictdi

Cheers Andy I'll get onto that. I take it fully synthetic doesn't mix very well with the diesel?! The mix between petrol to 2 stroke is supposed to be 200:1. So in 50 litres of diesel put 250ml of 2 stroke. The diesel has a 60 litre tank so as Andy suggested earlier 250 - 300 ml per tank is...

    Driving in the snow?

The only cars which really work well in snow are 4 wheel drive. My old Calibra turbo on Avon ZZ3's used to plow through fresh snow in the right lane of a dual carriage way while everyone else was tip toeing in the left lane scared to get out of 1st gear following the tyre tracks of the car in...

I am getting my Honda Accord "sound proofed" (with Dynamat) - any advice?

As the guys have said a change of tyres can make a lot of difference. You may find that if you get an approved installer to fit the Dynamat they don't actually cover the whole of the cars floor pan. They may just apply it to 'key' areas likely to reduce the most noise. For the money if you are...

    2012 new MOT rules

As someone said in the previous thread, I think it would be a very fussy mechanic who failed a car on an after market HID conversion because it didn't have the auto levellers and washers. But best buy your mechanic a xmas pressie and start sweetening him up, just in case. I'm sure we will start...
