    Clutch Issue

@the OP, you do know that Clutches are a wear item and will need replacement at some point. You seem to think that they should never be replaced? as for how long they should last it depends a lot on what type of driving you do. My car is still on its original clutch at 191K but my mileage is...

This is why you should change your accord diesel fuel filter

Hmm, once again I seem to be the weird one here.... through general apathy mines been on for well over 70K now with no degradation or running issues so either my local garages have nice clean tanks or it really isn't as likely to cause issues as some people think. Maybe I'm just lucky....

Alarm with a mind of its own- aaaaaaargh!

had this very thing myself, first the bad news you cannot in any way disable the alarm... no matter how you lock the car its on and will go off randomly till you fix the issue Now the good news... I found that on mine it was the tailgate locking mechanism. basically there is a microswitch...

    Boot/Tailgate issues

    Poor MPG

I sit at 80-85 mph and get 45-47 mpg week in week out A/C on... I don't pay silly servicing costs, (oil and filters every 12K but little else if I'm honest as its never needed anything ) and do basic maintenance myself. I bought at 130K Jan 2010 and I'm fast approaching 190K now... check your...

Sputnik comes back from the brink :-)

you may be surprised, they are surprisingly good. even removing dried on jam/dissolved sweets(Can you tell I've equally got two young ankle biters.... :D ) you could try the tesco APC as well, thats got the same level of sufectants that most posh cleaners have. otherwise there is Mr Muscle oven...

Sputnik comes back from the brink :-)

Cheap tesco all purpose cleaner is ace on all the plastics, I use baby wipes on the leather seats as they work wonders as well. carpet wise 1001 and a stiff brush to scrub it in seems as good as anything else I've tried.

    CLUTCH SLIP!

dont just throw it away, mines been slipping if I boot it in 3rd/4th now for over 35K miles. its not going to spontaneously fall apart. just drive with a little mechanical sympathy and IMHO and experience it will be fine for ages yet. I'm going to drive mine till it fails completely. TBH if I...

    Good Offer For My Tourer?

drive the deal are offering the car at 24233 so 750 quid off the price you've been quoted so if you can get more than 2800 for yours then you would be better off, I guess it all depends on how much hassle you will put up with for a potential extra few hundred quid in your pocket.

    Dull headlight plastic

a light cut polish like T cut or Menz Final finish also works wonders, if they are really bad use Autosol metal polish first and finish off with a lighter cut. As a motorway cruise mine pickes up lots of mini stone chips and teh above once a year keeps them in good nick.

My boot wont open manually or automatically

The microswitch/positional sensor is unfortunately deep inside the lock unit so you have to remove and dismantle the whole lock unit. its not difficult if you take your time and are methodical ( take pictures as you go along so you remember how it all goes back together! ) I did mine in about...
