Monks, did you also replace the tweeters too- if so, was it easy hooking them up and gettting them to sit in the holes. The space between the screen and dash is kinda tight, and originals sound good so I never replaced them.
I cant remember how thick the spacers were (this was 2 years ago), I think just about 10mm. But they were just perfect- and cheap too. No problems with clearance at all. I think the only problem with MDF is 'damp', but some people use it.
I bought these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6-Speaker-Adapters-Acura-TSX-04-09-Front-Rear-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem483a7bbc37QQitemZ310218832951QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo#ht_1354wt_939
All amplified to push BIG sound with no rattling panels
Its not that hard, you now need to get some spacers (or make them using MDF) and screw them on to the metal panel around the speaker hole. Then fit your speaker. You can use 13cm (original size) or bigger 17cm speakers. Check this guide...
Are you absolutely sure it's snapped?? Sounds very similar to my problem sometime ago but it was because the cable had slipped out of it's catch just in front of the bonnet release handle (beneath the interior fuse box- driver's footwell). May well be the same problem with yours as I also at...
Very very smart, bet they look even cooler with angel eye projectors.

I bought mine on ebay 3yrs ago shipped from the States. It came with a wiring harness so installation was easy. The radio display remains fully functional, all you will lose is the volume and steering control of the standard head unit.
Looks nice mate, well done. Was just thinking too myself though, the standard Accord stereo is very good compared to other cars in the same class. I have friends who drive BMWs- 120D & 118D. In my opinion the sound quality of their systems is nothing compared to the Accord system.
Here's a link to Accord speaker sizes: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/car_accessories/Honda/Accord/_2003/speakers.html As you can see the fronts are 13cms and rear 6x9. I converted my fronts to 17cms using adapter spacers.
Nice choice, it blends in well with the dash lighting too. I find using an SD card very handy in storing my favourite beats, and bluetooth/USB for my iphone navigation. All my speakers are Pioneers as direct replacements. Only the front door speakers are bigger 17cms ones.
Well done dude, its good to hear that. £75 sounds kinda way too steep for a head unit install, but hey its done. What head unit did you go for, did you replace the speakers as well, any other plans???? By the way, post a pic too.
Its a Pioneer bluetooth digital media receiver, much easier and better to use than my old x-carlink set up and also my second aftermarket stereo in this car. I'm not too sure what others have done, but I changed all the speakers (fronts now a bigger 17cm) and added two amps and a subwoofer. So...
Not really sure what sort of set up you are looking for, but this is what you need along with a wiring harness: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Honda-Accord-CD-Facia-Fascia-Panel-Adaptor-FP-15-04-/200598808821?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_FasciaPlates_SM&hash=item2eb49ee8f5#ht_576wt_905
