    Alignment Frustrations

I've had a look at the manual again and you are right, there is a torque sensor for the electric power steering setup and it is this that requires a reset. My own horse suffers the same fate though, steering always seems to come to rest just pointing left a bit, and as you say it is not...

    Alignment Frustrations

I recall something about a self centering reset that Honda do, I think it is a plug in job though, not something you can do at home. I could be wrong on this, best to get advice off one of the honda techs on this one.

    Wheel Bearings?

Hi, Could well be the bearing. The rear bearing is an easy enough swap, it is a separate hub held on with 4 bolts. Someone here did a good DIY I think, have a look. Regarding the timing chain, yes it is a chain and as far as I know it is not a scheduled service item, ie you don't replace...

2 Stroke oil in your ictdi

Hi guys, After reading this thread I've given the 2T a go, only running it for a day or two yet but in the mornings it certainly sounds quieter and feels smoother. Used to get a little knock with a cold engine but haven't noticed it this past couple of days. Just my two pence worth. Jm

    Front Wheel Bearing Needs Replacing

I think I remember a guy on youtube (Eric the car guy) replacing a bearing on an older Civic, the setup won't be the same obviously but it is similar to the Accord.

    DIY Steering rack guide adjustment

Background to this one; I was feeling a small jolt through the steering wheel, barely noticeable, after letting the clutch up. While it has turned out that my steering rack was actually worn, I did adjust the guide and it helped for a short while and Honda do regard this as a maintenance item...

Easy way of removing Aux Belt?

Hi there, I feel your pain as far as the tensioner goes, it really is a pain. If you're comfortable taking the belt off, then the alternator is easy. The difficult part is splitting the alternator without breaking it, but with patience and a few tools it can be done at home. Regarding the...

    facelift i-ctdi Alternator pulley replacement

The belt is relatively simple once you're able to move the tensioner. You will need to remove a few plastic clips inside the drivers wheel arch to get at the crank and idler down there. The fact that you're changing for the shorter one will mean an idler must be removed. I don't know what's...

    facelift i-ctdi Alternator pulley replacement

Yes, it has the shorter belt. I've seen a diagram somewhere on the forum showing the two belt routes. You'll know by looking at the alternator pulley, if the belt runs ~horizontal under the pulley then its the shorter belt. If it turns back up to an idler pulley that is a bit higher than the...

    facelift i-ctdi Alternator pulley replacement

The alternator shaft is threaded at the end and the pulley simply screws onto it, so you need to stop the shaft from rotating to take the pulley off. Options available; 1 Use an impact gun, some say this works, I'm not so sure and Honda specifically state on the Maris website not to do this. 2...

    facelift i-ctdi Alternator pulley replacement

I had my alternator bearings replaced about a year ago, they were making a right racket. A few months later and after the car was warmed up and restarted I had more noise from the alternator belt area, it would get louder and then suddenly stop after a minute or so. I initially suspected the AC...
