    Self Diagnostic

Hi, it's definitely on the passenger side, mine was plugged in a week ago. It's in the passenger footwell, on the right hand side, may need to pull away the carpet a bit...keep looking, it's definitely there (funny, that's what I say to the wife too!)

    Smell petrol in car

Hi Geoff, I filled up this morning and you're right, there is a 'hiss' when I turn the GENUINE HONDA filler cap. I would get rid of the Rover rubbish and source a Genuine Honda cap made specifically for the car. Alternatively, you could light a match and have a look underneath.....ONLY JOKING...

    Leather Peeling away

Hi Tin-Man, TYPE V is the oracle regarding the 6th Gen Accord. I met him last weekend and seen the tan leather interior he mentions and I'm not kidding, it could have come out of the factory last week. The condition of the leather was just perfect. I (mistakenly) used to use Auto Glyn as I...

    Rear disc HOT

Further to the above, I am glad to report that I have just got back from meeting a great bloke Stu in Tamworth, who is an expert with 6th Gen Accords. I learnt more from him in the past four hours than I ever could reading manuals and forums. As he took my dashboard apart (which is something I...

    Rear disc HOT

Hi Cliff, Thanks, I appreciate some people are naturally mechanically minded and can change calipers, radiators, engines, gearboxes etc without referring to manuals etc. There are also other people like me who when opening the bonnet have absolutely no idea what does what and what goes where...

    Rear disc HOT

Hi Andy, I had exactly the same symptom but with my front offside wheel. I started to notice a 'burning' smell every time I stopped the car. Felt the wheel which was quite warm, in fact, it was getting hot. This happened when we had all the snow and I threw a little bit onto the disc and...

    Low Fuel Warning Light

Hi Matt, Mine is working fine and doesn't come on when you turn the key, so long as there's enough fuel in the tank. When driving, my light usually comes on about 5mm above the final bar on the gauge, THEN it would light up when I turn the ignition on. If your needle is on the last bar, then...

    immobiliser light not coming on

Hi Joe, No idea regarding the imobilizer, however, I too had a buzzing noise coming from the glovebox recently, sounded like a loose screw vibrating and was driving me mad (depending on where the revs where). Discovered it was a loose screw. Open the passenger door and carefully pull off the...

Sat Nav on 6th Gen (worth fitting?)

Hi Dan, yes, I was thinking about one of those, seen them in Halfords or somewhere where the screen pops out, very cool. I do like my gadgets though. Presumably Dan, moving the climate and stereo further down the centre console (where the little shelf and flip down hidy hole is in front of the...

Sat Nav on 6th Gen (worth fitting?)

Thanks for the advice chaps, I agree, upon reflection I think it would be too much hassle and too expensive plus as the unit will be 10 years old, no comparison to modern stand alone units. Look nice in the dashboard though, might consider moving the climate and radio down, although need to...

Sat Nav on 6th Gen (worth fitting?)

Hi, I have a 2001 Y 6th Gen Accord SE Executive, which is great and is my 4th Accord. I have noticed that some were fitted with Honda branded Sat Nav, which appears to be fitted where the my climate control and Bose stereo are in my car ie. a big square unit which takes up both of the openings...
