    I don't see the need for a cooldown either unless your driveway backs onto a high speed road - for most people, the final 30mph stretch leading to your door is more than enough for the turbo to cool. The turbos I've seen making that police siren sound tend to have damage to one of the vanes...

    I was expecting this after moving from my Octavia where the climatronic was switchable between AUTO and ECON. the only difference being that the aircon compressor didn't run in ECON mode. It's definitely not as clear on the Honda as it could be though, at least with the touch screen :)

    There's a big difference between a standard disc burned on a duplication rig, and recordable media designed for home use. You really can't compare the two when it comes to degradation rates as you're comparing oxidation to dye damage - different causes, different consequences.

    Ah gotcha - I have no idea why so many readers don't interrogate ABS codes. I don't see why it wouldn't work, but you'd probably want a definite diagnosis before springing for an expensive repair. No friendly local place who'd do it for a pint? :)

    Shorting pins to get codes (often with an LED in series) is an old trick, but if you need to access the codes often it's probably wiser to spring for a cheap reader. There's less risk from wrong connections, and less chance of interpreting it iincorrectly
