issues after service and manifold replaced

to be honest, i got sick of the repeated lies. incompetence is one thing but lies are 10 times worse. just wanted my car working and never to have to deal with them again in one way or another.

issues after service and manifold replaced

Happy ending update :) Car has been running fine since the filter was changed to bosch one. Trusty mechanic noticed a few other things with the car which should have been picked up during the service, sorted now. Turned out that the second hand manifold was not a revised one with 2 bolts, so I...

issues after service and manifold replaced

service sheet says 5w30 oil. I know that best one is 0w30. i'm not too fussed as i do not do high mileage and still carry out annual service. whether it really is 5w30 i have no idea. when i checked the oil stick it looked quite thin, not too sticky. you're right, once i've got my car back and...

issues after service and manifold replaced

quick update....car was left this morning with a different garage that I trust as being good mechanics to check work done by other garage. as we're due to go on a long journey with the kids soon. report came back quickly: 1. fuel filter does not have "bosch" written on it (although i was...

issues after service and manifold replaced

lol. is there any guides around with pictures as i have no idea on what to do / look for ? i know where the FF is, it's got the pipes on top of it. would the priming bulb be at the bottom ? what do you do, just squeeze the bulb ? is there a bolt or something to open first to let air out ?

issues after service and manifold replaced

After a bit of thinking at how the issues started, ie after the service & manifold replacement, I believe I need to refocus on this and not the fuel pump. I'll see if I can check the FF fittings myself and check any actuators around the turbo etc....

issues after service and manifold replaced

On friday the car showed codes P0087 and P1065 for low fuel pressure. Garage replaced the new fuel filter for another bosch one on saturday in case it was faulty but I had another power loss again today. I lifted my foot off the accelerator before EML came on not to loose all power on the...

issues after service and manifold replaced

car went back to the garage tonite and they confirmed a "P0088" code. They suspect a fuel pump issue. They're keeping the car overnight to drive it around with the computer plugged in to see if more information is given. let's see what happens.

issues after service and manifold replaced

I've just found that Bosch filters were ditched for Denso filters as they are self-primming. Is that right ? any idea as to when bosch ones may have been dumped by honda ?

issues after service and manifold replaced

tell me if i'm wrong but i don't think it was a clutch slip. car was going up revs fine when it suddenly stopped accelerating with revs going down, keeping my foot an accelerator made it feel like i was slowly down even faster. i had been to that garage (independant honda specialist) a few...

issues after service and manifold replaced

initially they had got an oem fuel filter which turned out to have a broken seal. they got a bosch one from their supplier instead. are bosch ones original ? so you think the engine might be starved of fuel resulting in power loss ?

issues after service and manifold replaced

hi, literrally on the way to the garage to get a service done last week the manifold went (exhaust fume smell in the cabin symptom). the garage offered me a second hand "revised" (without head shiled) one sitting there so i took it. car was rushed out of the garage with turbo not tighen enough...

rear brakes repair opinion on estate

i wish i could do works myself but i'm not that confident when it comes to cars. i think i'll give a ring to my independant honda garage tomorrow to ask for some quotes before the dealer looks at it. only reason i'm taking it to the dealer is because they changed all these parts earlier this...

rear brakes repair opinion on estate

humm....so it sounds as if the caliper is a common cause, and not a cheap one.... the mechanic i saw today said that they would have pushed the piston back when doing the other work. doesn't mean they would have checked it properly though. and that was me thinking i could forget about the rear...

rear brakes repair opinion on estate

Hi, on my estate diesel i had the rear dics, pads & plates replaced last february at my local honda garage (it seems i didn't drive the car enough...). was all corroded apparantly. i know it's a common issue on those cars though. i've since done 5k miles (daily mix of motorway and town driving)...
