Accord Euro R Vibration Issues - Any Thoughts?

That sounds familiar! I only use OE parts now - been stung too many times with rubbish! ref the R - both CV joints have just been ordered - I suspect that’ll sort it. trying to avoid buying one now!! :D

Accord Euro R Vibration Issues - Any Thoughts?

Cheers Fahad - long time no see! Interestingly, the NS is where I felt it was coming from. Also good to know the K24 is a swap - will get digging into part numbers and see what I can find. There is several section, so I'd imagine the inner section is K20A specific.

Accord Euro R Vibration Issues - Any Thoughts?

Hi All! Not been on for a LONG time, as the Accord's moved on, but just I’ve had a mechanic friend of mine get in touch with an issue he’s trying to resolve on a Euro R Accord (’05) that he’s got in: (The R8, is the mechanic’s – lucky sod!) The problem – a vibration that usually, but not...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Thought I'd saunter back in here, blow off the cobwebs and post a bit of an update... (Hi all! :) ) After my last post way back when, I'd ended up switching back to a Stage 2 map after the Clutch master cylinder went. It's not got enough volume to work properly with the twin-plate, it seems...

Brake discs for Type R calipers

I use standard Discs with ATR calipers on my CTDi - no issues. As said the ATR discs will also work, but there's no need to buy them specially - just the ATR pads for the calipers themselves. :)

Also - a further post to clarify the VNT actuator pressures. Trevor's correct in saying 5.5 PSi is the required setting. I've checked my gauge and it must be reading in inHg, not PSI. 12 inHg = 5.5 PSI - too much of a coincidence.

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Very true - and thanks for the support both on here and Civinfo! :) I'll post the same thing up there when I have a chance. Now that I know where and what the issues are I could source the Hybrid that is known to work with this map (simple solution), but with the car heading towards 200K...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Well - I thought I'd update this finally... and the news is good (sort of)! In the middle of last year I took it to Celtic to see what they had to say about it (last chance), but the car started conking out continually on route, so by the time I got there the car was almost undriveable (I found...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Sorry for the late reply Miroslav! Not been on here at all recently!! I think it's probably too late to answer this (sorry again!!) but I would use the same diameter hoses as OEM and the routing is whatever you can make work with as few tight bends as possible. I've left my Turbo to IC pipe...

Mistery to be solved - Vaccum Solenoid Valve - Turbo actuator

The 2 Turbo Actuator EVR solenoids (Part #: 36180-RBD-E01 - for my '06 Accord anyway) control the vacuum that is used to open and close the Variable Nozzle Turbine (VNT) vanes in the Turbo itself. If the actuator isn't getting the right vacuum from that system the vanes won't operate correctly...

    Remap

'Risky' is probably the wrong word. Any Clutch is a wear and tear item - it will never last for ever, so you are probably better thinking in terms of 'accelerated wear'. If you get a Stage 1 or indeed Stage 2 remap, and regularly floor it, then you will increase the wear rate of the clutch...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

I'm broadly happy now, but just want to bottom out once and for all what can/can't be done with this setup and whether my fuelling issues are turbo, map or fuel system related. If a standard turbo can get to 204 hp, mine shouldn't be having fuelling issues before it even gets there. Plus...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Do you mean the N75 maps Fahad? Thing is - it seems to work fine on the S2 map and never over-boosts - is that just because the S2 isn't demanding more of the turbo than it would a stock one anyway? (happy to chat if it's easier to explain to a thick Southern Jock? :D)

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

As per this thread: http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/22213-help-needed-in-devonsomerset-area/ I need a 'loan' of a 2.2 CTDi Accord for about 20 minutes to work out the unmodified VNT Actuator length. Backing up a bit, I took a short-notice trip up to Leeds on Tue to drop the clutch off at...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

My understanding is that if you go too big relative to the engine you can actually reduce the efficiency of the IC relative to what the turbo actually can make use of. The general rule I was working to was 3-litres of IC core volume per 100 bhp. I had done a lot of reading on this...

    CTDi Hybrid Turbo Install

Just stuck the 'best' S3 map on (call it nostalgia!) - it certainly does! Big difference to the S2. 325 Clutch seems to be coping with it too (although I will keep it toned down.). I'll be digging into getting the VNT set correctly this coming week - problem is Turbo Clinic is 4 hours away...
