Don't think it'll be that hard, there's still plenty about. My bulk head looks new, but did have slight corrosion picked up on one of the front chassis legs on its last mot - but only slight as I have a very picky tester. But has since been treated and under sealed.

Have you changed the ignition leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, air filter, etc? They do need working a little bit if you're used to a bigger engine

Problem solved. Checked spark plugs and noticed one was covered in carbon, others were in good nick. So looked into the ignition lead for that one and it was corroded. Soaked the end in dw40 for an hour and refitted, not acted up since. Job jobbed. Worryingly those leads are only 7k miles old...
