Hi all,

I wanted to spend the day undersealing the car and getting it ready for the winter roads but I couldn't figure out how to remove the plastic tray that routes the fuel & brake lines from front to back.

I removed 3 x 17mm plastic fittings and that loosened the tray, I could see little plastic tabs that seemed to be connecting 2 or 3 sections of the tray but I didn't want to put too much pressure on them and snap them off.

Are the pipes wedged into the tray every 6" or so? Do I have to put some force into popping the lines out to remove the tray or should it just fall off once the 17mm fittings are removed?

Cheers,
Colin

Comgrats on undersealing your car dude, but with regard to removing the pipe housing i have no idea. Sorry.

The brake and fuel lines are clipped into the tray, and usually if you try to remove them the lines will split or burst etc. Best left undisturbed unless you have brake pipe and fuel pipe to hand to repair.

Yeah, thought as much, that's why I didn't want to put too much pressure on them before I asked here.

I'm trying to clean them up so that I don't have to replace them!

I've got the driver's side arches to clean and seal today so I'll just clean the lines as best I can around the tray and then give them a thin coat of hammerite spray.

I'm not undersealling the entire chassis as when I was under it yesterday the majority still looked like it had just rolled out of the factory.
