Aircon problem

Hi everybody, a quick question for the technical minded (beefy in particular). My a/c packed up yesterday. It was low on gas, but still working, and yesterday stopped completely. Took it to my local trusted mechanic and regassed it, but now it does not want to switch the compressor on. My mechanic's best guess is the a/c pressure sensor, as the compressor works if he shorts the wiring manually. Now I read somewhere about the clutch sticking on these models, so any ideas boys?

Air con on cars has a pressure sensor switch for if the gas is low. If the aircon works when you bridge the switch you have found your problem. Make certain you also dont have a leak,
