Altenator ?

Today a huge whine started under the bonnet, initially I thought it was the power steering pump but this evening the car was slow to start and now it won't start at all so I'm guessing altenator?

So would anyone know does a k20a Ep3/dc5 or a type s k20 cl7 share the same altenator ? I'm almost sure I have a dc5 one somewhere so hopefully this could be a easy fix, cheers

I got that whine noise last year on my 2005 Accord EXEC. 98,000 miles. When I put a multimeter onto the battery there was charge going to the battery. Removed the alternator and stripped it down. Brushes looked fine on it. Started to look at rectifier, one of the diodes. Cut out/ desoldered the old rectifier pack. Checked the windings of alternator with multi meter and they were fine. Sounded a new rectifier from a local auto electrician supply company £40. Soldered it in and fitted it back into car. Also changed auxiliary bled.... All done in 4 hours.... Great satisfaction
