Hi,
I recently changed my aux belt to a shorter one (1875mm) and one morning after two weeks i couldn't start my car again. It was the alternator that stoped charging the battery. The alternator also started to sound noisy.
So i took out my alternator and started inspecting brushes, but they were fine.
Continuity between the slip rings (A) - continuity
Continuity between each slip ring and the rotor B and the rotor shaft C - NO continuity .
So what may be the problem? Is is possible to repair this alternator? Can i continue to use my new (1875mm) belt ?
