Another tailgate issue.

Thought I'd dodged most of them, hoping someone will read this and know exactly what the problem is. When the tailgate lowers remotely it doesn't latch and I can't open it either remotely or manually. When I slam it shut manually I can open it remotely but not manually.

I'll get some contact cleaner tomorrow and hope its a sensor that's a bit mucky, any ideas appreciated, anybody know if tailgate closer unit is same for saloon and tourer?

not sure if saloon and tourer tailgate closer unit is same i believe not although check here to match up part numbers

It seem to appear tailgate closer is out of alignment

I haven't had a chance to investigate further but I'm sure I've tried to close the latch on something I shouldn't have recently so could well be.
