Good evening all,

I am in need of some advice on my 57 plate EX Accord diesel. The car has just over 75,000 miles on the clock. This all started yesterday and same today. Driving along normally in a 30 mile an hour zone then all of a sudden the Engine light came on, revs drop back to 1100, but no accelerator control, and gears seemed not respond. Had to coast to a safe stop. When I checked for the fault codes I found: 2510, P2138 & 81-1. Also shown in the below photos.

Can anybody advise the best way of fixing this issue?

Best to delete the stored codes and see which ones return (certainly that 81-1 ABS code has nothing to do with your current engine problem).

However you description and the P2138 do point to the accelerator pedal position/throttle position sensor playing up. You may be able to cure it with switch cleaner, but such a catastrophic failure suggests that replacement will be needed.

The sensor is on the bulkhead, at the end of the accelerator pedal cable. It's fairly easy to replace it.

Quite a lot of APP sensor problems have been reported recently.
