Car moves about an inch or so with handbrake on then stops.

Here we go.
I noticed today when stood at lights with the handbrake firmly on,that the car would move an inch then stop firmly like it should.
A quick net search has revealed that it's normal but I'm not too convinced.
I was thinking of a loose or compressed or broken engine mount but the wheels wouldn't turn would they?
Please don't say it's driveshafts....

Hi willcook1275gt, it seems that it happens to a lot of people with different makes of car.
The handbrake works solidly but that movement is weird.

Have the same, but not always, depends on car's position.
