I've got the original Bose head unit fitted and an Alpine CD changer in the boot (with an in-line interface box behind the head unit).

BUT, when I press the CD button on the head unit, nothing happens; the radio just stays on and there are no error messages or anything.

I've checked all the cables and connections as far as I can and it all seems to be connected ok. The changer has power as it can eject the cartridge.

Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong?????

When you say nothing happens, have you tried having someone else in the car and your head in the boot (obviously when the car in stationary  ) and then changing from the radio to the CD?

If you try this and there are no noises then you need a new CD unit. If you have and there are noises and there is just no music coming through but you can hear the CD spinning then you need a new laser. Which to be honest it would just be cheaper to replace the whole unit.

when you insert the mag does the CD changer run through the CD's checking them or does it just click into place?
