I have a 2.0 tourer and the central locking is not working from both keys I have. If lock is operated from the drivers door button then it will lock/unlock doors as expected. Also remote blip on both keys are not working despite the red lled on the keys coming on, so i'm ***uming the batteries fine. The tailgate opens manually but can be closed with the button on the tailgate and the touch sensors do work as expected.
Now does remote not working sound like a minor issue that can be diagonized and fixed diy or is it a dealer only fix. And finally may someone recommend a good indie (honda or otherwise) around hastings when I will need service and stuff done on the car.

Have you jump started the car recently or had a dead battery? I've read a lot of stuff about problems with the immobiliser and keys resulting from jump starting the car with the keys in the ignition, it particularly affected 2006 Civics but I guess the same issue could affect the Accord?

If so, you'll probably need a dealer to re--sync the immobiliser and keys with their diagnostic tools.

Not had the car for long but it has never failed to start during the time. Fortunately i've arranged for one of keys to be re-sync at the dealer soon and will at the same time ask for possible explanation. Thanks for the reply.

Drop a note on here when you get it sorted if you find out what caused it. Would be interesting to here what a dealer charges too.

Had the keys programmed and resync to the car and now everything works as expected. Considering it took not more than 10 minutes, i'd gues it was just a case of plugging car, cars, etc to HDS and resyncing. Cost was £19.65.

I recently bought a Honda accord tourer and i have the same problem as ***ettt apart for the tailgate which i can only operate manually while the ignition it's on.
The car battery looks new so could it be that the key fob just needs re-syncing after the battery has been replaced?
On the same note the alarm it's also not working.
Will the resync solve this?
Any helm is much appreciated.

I find that the tailgate does not allow you open it whilst you are in the car, I think it is a safety feature, one of the passengers might have your other key and push the wrong button. Re the alarm it always appears not to be working but try this, leave a window open, lock up with the fob, then stick your hand into the car, do this during the day or your nieghbours will be very upset with you. Also try this lock the car with the key, then open up with the key and see how popular that makes you.
