I seem to have a brewing issue with my clutch I wish to solve before it packs up. The clutch on my 2.2 CDTi tourer works fine mpst of the time but sometimes the pedal feels a bit dead and it has to hit the floor to disengage fully, let it up and press again and it is fine. no leaks, no lost fluid.
I feel it is unlikely the clutch itself.....wondering if it is the master cylinder? I had similar with a different car when a return valve for fluid in the cylinder was faulty.
Anyone had similar?

Hi, first I would try spraying lube behind the clutch pedal where the rod goes through there is a tiny hole, I used a white lithium grease, get a can that has the straw and put it in as far as you can, try to get as much in as you can, the hole can swivel, it is awkward to do, get a head torch to see. My car suffered from stiff clutch pedal and a kind of dry scraping, this is a common complaint I believe, there is a thread somewhere on this.
