Reading the manual it suggests the only way to disable the ultrasonics is by using the door button to lock the doors, if you use the key it will arm ultrasonics? o you can't use super locking with ultrasonics disabled?

Seems a bit stupid, the only reason I want too disable ultrasonics is so I can leave the windows open without fear of it alarming - if I'm leaving my windows open I definitely want the deadlocks activated so people can't just reach in and unlock my car!! I understand if someone does that the alarm will go off, but that's hardly a deterrent is it!

Just checked my '05 tourer. It seems to work as you suggest, even though the logic may be flawed!

Lock with driver's door pin only: ultrasonics off

Lock with door pin then deadlock with keyfob: ultrasonics on

From the manual even using the key in the door and double locking activates the ultrasonics.

Does the manual mention anything about dealing with suspicious curtain twitching neighbours when deliberately setting off your own car alarm by reaching into the open sunroof?
