DIY - removing Navi

Just some hints on how to remove the navi for fitting an aux input or xcarlink or similar

follow the post here first

Time to take apart the car! Follow here to remove the ashtray

then you need to remove the DVD player for the navigation 4 10mm nuts/bolts , then you can withdraw it out and remove the wires....be careful the brackets are sharp..protect your trim nav1.jpg

once the DVD is out look underneath the navigation and you should see two bolts (see above pic for location) remove these.

Now to remove the top panel, you need to fashion a tool to do this or improvise..whatever :lol: , here is what you do (see pic) insert your tool to the left and right of the vent and pull to dislodge the front plastic clips then you lift the unit upwards...you'll see wires and connectors that remove these and remove the top panel.

Once you have the unit out you will see 3 screws that hold the navigation to the centre console. Once you remove these the unit is free to move, you just have to pull to remove it from it's lodging.

The Aux input connector is a white connector on the back like shown in this pic second pic from the bottom
