Sorry for the lack of photos I thought I took more than I acctual have.

Anyways jack the car up and put on axel stands.

Once you are sure everything is safe, remove the engine cover.

From the top, behind your engine you'll see a small vacuum pipe going to a large circular actuator.

Remove that pipe, then look down below that you'll see 2x12mm bolts securing a heat shield to the exhaust manifold.

Remove them and remove the heatshield.

Then go under the car and remove the undertray, you will see two 12mm springbolts securing the exhaust to the downpipe, remove these.

To the left you'll see a bracket with 3x14mm bolts securing the downpipe to the egnine remove these and remove the bracket.

Then go back to the top of the engine and you'll see 2x14mm nuts securing the downpipe to the turbo, Remove these then go underneath and remove the 3rd 14mm nut from the downpipe and remove the down pipe.

Now drain the coolant into a clean bucket (I just removed the lower radiator hose and opened the expansion bottle cap).

Then go back under and remove the 2 large black pipes, secured with jubliee clips to the cold side of the turbo.

You'll also see a small rubber pipe connected to a gold pipe going to the back of the turbo, remove that.

There's also a bracket from the turbo to the engine block secured with 2x14mm bolts remove this.

You'll see two pipes going to the bottom of the turbo secured with 2x10mm bolts. Remove these (be careful of the gasket behind it! you need that).

Follow the thicker pipe and you'll see it's secured to the engine with 2x10mm nuts remove these and follow the skinnier pipe over the the timing side of the engine and remove the 14mm banjo bolt securing it.

Now remove the pipe ***embly. Be carefull of the gaskets and copper washers on the banjo bolt.

Next go back to the top of the car and remove the 17mm banjo bolt securing the metal pipe going to where the two rubber pipes from the heater matrix join the engine, the banjo bolt is inbetween these.

Then remove 3x14mm nuts holding the turbo to the manifold. Slide the turbo off and turn it sideways to slide it down through between the driveshaft and the subframe.

Now remove 2x10mm bolts securing the 2 coolant pipes to the turbo.

Next loosen the 10mm nut on the shaft from the actuator, and unbolt the actuator from the turbo.

Turn the wee threaded spindle on the lever going into the turbo and remove the shaft from the lever and set the actuator to the side.

If you look at the turbo you'll see one side is silver (cold side) and the other side is brown/rusted(hot side).

Now if you set the turbo down flat you'll see in the middle there are bolts along the outside holding the casings to the shafthousing.

With tipex mark 2 lines (one on the cold side and 1 on the hot side) so you can line both casing back up easily.

On the cold side you'll see a load of 8mm bolts around the circumference of the casing. Remove these and remove the casing.

Now using a 6 point 10mm socket (to reduce the risk of rounding the heads of the bolts) remove the 10mm bolts around the circumference of the hot side of the turbo.

Now holding the propellar shaft houseing, using a hammer, gently tap the casing off.

Be careful not to let it fall.

On the inside of the casing you will see this:

Now you can see the ring that goes around the outside of the levers remove this carefully from the wee rollers on it and clean this with a wire brush.

Now there are 3 torx screws (sorry can't remember the sizes) securing the vnt (I thinks that's what's its called) to the hotside casing.

Remove these and lift the unit out watch for the three spacers underneath, and put this into petrol for an hour or so then build everything back it the reverse order.

Excellent write up bud... Hope you don't mind - but I cleaned up the formatting a little.

Have a couple of rep points for you efforts!

No I actually hue no power before the turbo kicks in then when it kicks in I have normal power, I just did this as I had nothing else to do and thought I may aswell do it just for piece of mind
