Hi Guys

I am having to replace the off-side drive shaft ( or parts of it ) won't know until I dismantle and inspect.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the best price. I don't want to get rubish as it's false economy isn't it, but at the same time, I would rather not pay Honda prices.

Any help apreciated guys.

regards

never heard of them before...

i got some of my shafts from honda (the cheapest lol) and the rest from a salvage car.

all is good.

as long as the salvage car is newish and with not too many miles you should be ok.

Euro Car Parts have been around a long time. Their current discount code is pretty generous, so I'd be pleasantly surprised if new ones could be bought cheaper elsewhere.

Hi Guys

I have found a company called Nippon Car parts on the internet who also advertise on ebay. They have quoted me £119.00 all in inc Vat and delivery for a complete drive shaft ***embly. Brand new with 2 yr guarantee.

It does sound a very good price and I have never heard of this company.

Has anyone had any dealings with them and if so can I trust them and their product.

Any help would be appeciated.

... that's about a tenner more than buying it from ECP - see post #2.

Hi

toffee_pie - what did you mean by "honda accords are a bit picky with drive shafts"

Unfortunately Jon_G Euro Car Parts wern't able to help. The supplier they use also supplies to the end user but wants the old drive shaft first so that he can refurbish it and I was told by the guy at ECP that they could not give me any idea of delivery, could be six weeks.

I did however have a long chat with the technical guy at Blueprint Auto spares in Kent. They are the suppliers of the driveshaft I mentions that Nippon have got for sale. He says that although Blueprint manufacture a lot of parts to OEM spec they do actually source this particular driveshaft from Japan and it is manufactured to OEM spec. He said that they sell about 30 a month with no probs. I have found a local dealer who sells it and at £130 inc. vat they offer a 3 yr warranty. They are a reputable auto parts supplies company with several branches and I have used them before.

I just can't help thinking that given all the research I have done, It might be to good to turn away rather than have to pay Honda inflated prices.

Has anyone replaced one of these. If so is there anything to look out for that could cause any problems.

ive replaced them, hondas prices are stone bonkers.

no other words to describe what they charge for cv joints let alone half shafts .

you can get a salvage car, is what i did and no problems since. just make sure the milage is not so high.
