Please bear with me, I need to change the front pads on my 7th gen diesel tourer, and I forgotten the size of the hex spanner required to split the housing does anyone know?? Borrowed a set last time but really should get my own.

On my 6th gen, its 17mm for the carrier and either 12mm or 14mm for the caliper (into the slide pins). Does that sound familiar?

Hopefully a 7thGen DIY'er will be along soon ;-)

Make some notes. I've a set to fit shortly...

I think it's either 5.5 or 6mm (I just pull it out of my toolbox). The carrier bolts are 17mm. You shouldn't need to remove the carrier.

<edit> Being silly...

Well just done my front pads and discs - the hex is a 7mm in size. But now I've misplaced the little **** and I can't find him <_<

Interested to know how long the pads have lasted? My Pagid fronts have done 27k and are almost due for replacement.

My fronts lasted circa 50K! But then again, it all depends on the type of driving you do...
