Front speaker problems

I recently replaced the speakers at the front of the car which was fairly straight forward thanks to the "how to" guides on here. My problem however is that the one on the front near side seemed to cut out.
Off came the door card and sure enough, one of the wires going into the speaker had come off. I put it back on but the speaker gives no sound at all. I'm at a loss as to what it is.

Any suggestions?

Blown the speaker? Fuses?

Take the door card off and connect the old speaker back up. If it works then you know it's a faulty speaker.
