Heat from rear (of my car)

Pulled up after an 'enthusiastic' drive of about 20 mins and I was hit by the heat coming from what felt like the wheel arches, particularly on the drivers side. However, two journeys later and it's not as hot. I've had a good feel round the wheel and around the brakes doesn't feel particularly hot. It feels like waves of heat if that makes sense. Should I be looking for something or is a result of the rear boxes on both sides?

hello mate exhausts and brake get the hottest on cars so if it coming from that area check the rear boxes if not make sure ur brake ent sticking
