HO2S/ Primary Lambada/ O2 sensor Location

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and to Accord ownership. I recently bought a 6th gen with a few issues that I am working to sort out. I went to the scrap yard today with the view of pulling an HO2S from a fairly fresh arrival that I pulled a starter motor off last week. Alas it seems I got everything but the HO2S,

Mats, silver interior trim, fresh ashtray, VTEC badges, heater capacitor, shiny new Honda badges and a key ring! I couldn't locate the sensor under the bonnet though. I had the heat shield off the exhaust but I couldn't find it. It's rather frustrating that 98% of all the information out there refers to the US Accord and it seems the guide I had read showed a US model location of the sensor.

Can anyone help me as to the location of the sensor, a picture would be extremely handy. I know some people use a crow's foot type tool to remove/fit it but is it possible without one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Jack, welcome to TA.

The primary sensor on the 1.8 is just behind the flex pipe, as in the background here.

The secondary is just behind the CAT, so follow the exhaust pipe back another 18" or so, you might see the CAT heatshield and it will be just after that.

No probs, let us know how you get on.

They are generally tough to remove and although I haven't had to yet myself, an O2 socket with large breaker bar and blowtorch might be useful.
