Hood / Bonnet Stuck

Hi, Has anyone got a clever trick to open a stuck hood? I have tried pulling the lever and pressing on the bonnet at the same time but no luck. Not sure if I can remove the bumper without opening the hood. This is a pain.

On the Mk7, if you lift the bonnet lever (with somebody else pushing down at the front), you can then tweak the cable under the lever with the other hand, giving about another 2mm pull on the catch.

If you do get it open then make sure you take up the slack up front before closing

Thanks. I got it open by bouncing on the bonnet and pulling the lever. The mechanism was very dirty. Seems ok now after a good clean and oil. Thanks for the help.
