immobiliser light - tailgate ?

gen 7 tourer
Ok so i knew to expect a couple of problems to sort but

Start car , well attempt to .. green key flashes on dash and wont fire up, yet on second turn fires instantly

changed battery today as kept loosing charge , plus it was dated 2008 and its a 2004 tourer .
also changed fob battery as tailgate seemed intermittent again

i think that when the tailgate seemed to be fixed

im thinking the green key light was going out allowing the boot to lock and unlock. . open close via fob etc, and now its back to intermittently working on the fob
no tailgate lights on the dash and back to remote tailgate working immediately after stopping car and removing the key :wacko:

ill try a reset in a bit , but every thing im ***uming would of been reset when battery on car
was removed ?

car locks and unlocks remotely fine by the way


any one near manchester with HDS ?

reset and all good again ... apart from a abs light geeesh

any one near sale manchester with diagnostic :)
 
Back to green key on dash ( randomly ) . turn key nothing just keeps turning over.... turn off and will turn over and start immediately
lock car up via fob and a again ( randomly ) tail gate wont open from fob . Look in car and green light is flashing ( green key )

looking like a new ecu ?

unless a imobiliser bypass in available ?
 
I wouldn't be stretching for a new ECU yet. It could just be a ground fault. Get it on a HDS and see what errors are being thrown up. It really sounds like an electical fault over anything else. I ***ume the replacement battery is good? Is the current draw normal? When it starts is everything normal?
 
hi ,

both car battery and fob battery been replaced for new .
had alternator tested and thats all good

wondering now if the flashing light was somehow draining the battery i replaced ?
alarm did randomly go off

ill make sure every thing conected properly at the ignition after work tomorrow.
Car does lock and unlock every time from the fob... just odd... damn gremlins :)

got a copy of hds pc ... and vivid... just no lead lol.. got a bluetooth adapter and vagcom lead

possibly try find someone local :)
 
A copy of the HDS on it's own is no good, you need the propriety interface for HDS too :(
 
Got the pc version...not a clue what else i need :)
 
You need the HDS interface between the PC/Laptop and Car
