Guys,

Got the manifold replaced last week but i have engine management light coming on since, garage have knocked it off twice but back on again, they think its a loose connection or air coming in somewhere, anyone have any experience, havent drove it much since light has been on but feels ok to drive the little i have but i dont want to be doing any extra or more damage

Any help or known issue would be great

You need to know exactly what the error code was... without knowing that it's just guessing! Your garage should be able to properly diagnose faults and not be so vague. I suggest you treat it as their problem to sort this out.

they say its coming up as air intake fault, im waiting for them to come back to me at the moment

I have same fault coming on as well. I pluged obd2 adaptor and on Android app, torque it comes up as p2004. Which is something with manifold. Will check later what it says.

P2004 = Inlet Manifold Runner Control stuck (may be a faulty actuator)... easily damaged by careless placing of hands and knees with the engine cover off!

is it expenses if it is that, garage still not back to me but nothing new to Irish garages

It might just be a pipe not put back on properly, so take the engine cover off (4 10mm nuts... don't drop the big washers!) and make sure all pipes to the IMRC and the frequency solenoid valve have been put back on tightly.

I think the FSV was changed on facelift models (not sure what you have?). This is a recent thread I just found on a P2004 problem... http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/9727-fault-with-honda-accord-i-ctdi-year-2004-code-p2004-178-09-imrc-incorrect-position/page__p__108672__hl__frequency__fromsearch__1#entry108672 and there are many other threads on this you can find by searching the forums here using words like 'p2004', 'frequency', or 'imrc', etc.

But, I still think the garage need to sort this for you (for free!). The FSV is a bit delicate and may have been crushed by a clumsy mechanic, and they will have exposed it and might have lent on it (it's happened before)... if you start fiddling around they might wash their hands of the problem.

Good luck.

Mine is 2005 so not the facelift i dont think, new to accords so dont know all models
Il wait and see what garage says tonight and then push them,
Not many people know alot about accords in ireland when it comes to garages, it just seems to be guys that have researched it themselves which is great but it would be great to get a mechanic that knows honda inside out and knows how to get the job done.

It can be so annoying when they are such a quality car

aye, Irish garages in general are not used to fixing Accords, things like clutches on the 7th gen are a massive job, Irish garages would be in the dark alot of the time if asked to do one.
