Anyone know the best place for me to go to get a new key and fob? I already have one of each but the fob has no back (held on with black electrical tape) and the key is slightly bent.

Any help would be appreciated.

you can get flip key fobs on and blanks on ebay, but you need to transplant the guts (easy peasy)

other than that it's Honda main dealer i believe.

here you go fella. I have one like in the second link and it works great. Just take either to Timpsons to get it cut, Took them 3 efforts to get it right though.

EDIT: just realised this is for the 6th gen. You can still pick up keys from ebay for your 6th gen. Ignore my links. :)

Thanks guys.

Those links... my fob buttons are a different size. Is that a problem?

Those links are for the 7th gen buddy. Yours is a 6th. You should still pick up a key for yours, just search Accord key on ebay and find one like yours.

New key fob and buttons. New battery giving better range and I don't feel like it will fall apart.

Rule #32 Enjoy the little things.

Hi peeps - I just got hold of one of flip fobs and it is a lot better quality than the one in that photo.

My only query is about removing the transponder. Does anyone have any tips?

It looks like it pops in but I believe it has some kind of retainer and dont wont to try jimmying it out just yet

In mine the retainer was just a blob of goo. Be very careful and use an electrical screwdriver with some insulation tape (for added softness).

That's all I did, and the world was still turning the following morning. :D

Hmmm - it looks like a little capacitor with a little copper wire coming out of the end - I was thinking it had contact with the key for some reason???

Unfortunately i cant get a good enough picture!

Oh and where did you get your key cut?

No its just one of little RFID doo dahs I think.

I got an old skool Italian shoe repairer/key cutter to do it. No other swine would touch it for some reason. He did say tha the blanks are made out of really tough metal and it took him ages - plus a good 4 or 5 attempts to get it just right. He (jokingly) said not to hurry back if I had any more

Transponder removed, no glue, rubbery sealant used in mine - I just need to find someone that will cut my blade for me! :D
