Manual heater controls

Sorry if this been covered but I can't find it anywhere. I'm swapping out my head unit and I have followed the how to but it's for a digital ac and mine is manual. How the heck do I get the unit out far enough to get to the screws???

If I remember correctly (it's been four years since I did mine) you also need to remove the little shelf and drawer under the unit to get up and behind the unit.

Can anyone else add anything?

If not, I'll take mine out on the weekend and provide some pics.

Sounds like the cable is getting tense and stopping movement.

Take out the centre console and cubbys/clock etc and disconnect it from underneath, and obviously disconnect whatever else you can, plugs for stereo etc.

Either way, sounds like something is getting under tension and stopping any movement.

Cheers guys, the right side is ok but the left isn't so its obviously the direction dial connection that snagging somewhere. How are they connected? Is it a cable with the bent end that hooks through or a barrel ??? I only ask as I can't see it from any angle will have my have up there doing it blind :-\
