Folks..

The missus car is horribly swirled after someone (not I) went nuts with a machine polisher (supposedly a professional). Its a black pug 207 and it looks sodding awful in the sun. Can anyone tell me how much of this swirlX stuff Id need to do the whole car? Not sure if one bottle will be enough to get all the swirls/holos out of it having never used it before. Also, how abrasive is this stuff? Should I be careful using it or is it idiot (me) proof?

Cheers folks

Please try to keep the french car bashing to a minimum, its painful enough that Im going to have to be in contact with it for the length of time required to polish out the swirls.....

Don't even attempt to hand polish out buffer trails (holograms) as you will be there until next year trying. You need to buy one of these. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing-machines/das-6-dual-action-polisher/das-6-dual-action-polisher-sonus-and-menzerna-kit/prod_525.html

The Menzerna polish is ideal for soft paint (Honda) and will not be to abrasive so is ideal for removing buffer trails. Trust me i had the exact problem on my Honda after some paintwork. A couple of hours with a DAS-6 and it was mint again.

You can sort out your other halfs car and then go nuts on your own and make them look new again.

Those things scare me but I suppose I should man up and get to grips with one sooner or later. Cost is the major issue there, I know thats a decent price for machine polisher but at £10 a bottle the swirlx is worth a punt first I reckon since I need to sort out ring scratches behind the door handles on the Accord anyway. Im sure you are right though, it would take a month of sundays to polish out the holos by hand..
