Hi,

I have a bit of an issue.. I fitted my parrot CK3200 hansfree in my car on friday, i used the SOT-71 cable and all worked spot on! i then installed my alpine amp and sub, i ran the remote from the ign live on the car kit and the rear 6x9 wires were split into a speaker level RCA converter. The problem i have is when i use the phone (calling in or out) the sub goes mental and has a constant buzz (loud bassline tone) until i turn the call off.
Im thinking its somthing to do with the rear channel being amplified when before (in my old car) only the front speakers were being used for the handsfree output?? any ideas would be great?
only thing i can think of doing is wiring in a switch for the amp remote?? I would prefer to fix than bodge tho.

Thanks
Damo

What version of the radio have you? 6CD Ex? Satnav?

sorry, forgot to mention.. standard with no satnav or changer. i have the xcarlink in the changer port.

Check the mute cable from the SOT lead. My phone kit mutes the whole system and puts sound through the 4 door speakers independent of what volume is on the stereo. The amp is cut too.

Can you hear voices/sound from the call coming through the sub?

There are no voices coming through the sub (that i can hear, its deafening) just a constant bass line!
It happens no matter what volume the head unit is at and also does it if the head unit is off??

just to add as well, every thing seems to mute when the radio is on..

can anyone who has installed a carkit remember if they had to put the mute from the carkit into the plug on the back of the radio? i have a yellow mute wire on the parrot kit and have not connected this as i didn't think there was a mute on the accord?
after looking at a few installs it seems the forth pin on the bottom row is the mute? is this right?

Thanks
Damo

Yes, that's the mute lead I was talking about. It kills sound to the speaker and only lets the voice through.

Take out the blue connection from the back of the stereo and put the spade connection from the pink mute wire into the spare/blank space into it. It is the fourth from the left. Make sure to push it in securely:

If i remember correctly there was no mute wire with a spade connector on the SOT-071??
Also i thought the purpose of the SOT-071 was to mute the radio??

Thanks again for all the help guys.

I think you are right actually. The SOT-071 plugs directly into the back of the stereo and has the mute built in. I'm at work now but if I get time this evening I'll do a little research.

Look in the middle of the pic here: http://dbinstall.parrot.com/pdf.php?adapter=PC000008AA&ck=CK3200&lang=UK Do you see the mute lead coming from the carkit, did you come across this while installing?

I can't say i did notice this to be fair as the parrot kit had been installed in my old car, the wires were connected and taped up?!?

The radio does mute and there is no sound apart from the carkit sound coming from the front speakers it just seems to be the rear/sub that is the issue, im going to try and pull the wire on the sub and just leave the rear 6x9 connected to see if there is still sound coming through. I will let you know how i get on. :)

Here is another one of my threads with more relevant info about this: http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/3277-sot-047-cable-not-supplying-power/

It is about when I was setting up the SOT cables and such.

There is some info about the tweeters and 6x9s still on while a call is active - the mute wire wasn't in. Have a read through it, I'd say it's something similar.

Also, is your amp and sub in the boot hooked up directly to the 6x9s? i.e. no connection to the stereo at all?

The 6x9's are connected to the standard speaker wires in the rear and then the rear cables are split to the RCA converter. i have solved the interference now! i turned off the bass boost on the alpine amp and also turned down the gain on the amp. i now only have sound coming through the sub when muted by the carkit.. for some reason this is not muted? any ideas?
