Afternoon guys,

Just following the excellent pollen filter replacement DIY posted on these pages. Having removed the original filter, I see my aftermarket one is different in construction, not having the plastic frame with keyway, just being basically all paper, with a flap on each edge running down the length of the thing:

Is it a case of bending the paper flaps and sliding it in there, also which is the best way round to fit this this thing?

Cheers
Rob

To be honest mate it looks like the filter you've got is the wrong one. I've replaced a couple of these and everyone I've done has the frame. The frame enables the filter to fit where it should.

You can try to fit it, but it may not sit as it should.

Yeah, they've given you the wrong one.

The same happened with my father in law, didn't realise until we came to fit it, but the motor factors swapped it without an issue.

Best bet is to take.send it back, get a refund, and get them to send you the correct one.

But many man points your way for having a go at changing it yourself.

I attached original filter photo below. It has separate frame. Filter looks almost the same but original has thicker sides.
The box under the filter is replacement from denso (you can see denso part number on it - dcf255p). it has frame on it so you do not need to use original one. I kept frame for later, if I will get original filter someday.
